National Health Commission: Nucleic acid test is required for patients in fever clinic
On June 11, the National Health Commission issued a notice on its official website: all patients who go to the fever clinic must be scanned for the "health code" and tested for nucleic acid. Quarantine medical observation and basic medical services should be provided as soon as possible for excluded and suspected cases. (nhc.gov.cn)
Zhang Wenhong: The second wave of the pandemic is on its way, and it may be stronger than the first wave
In an interview, Zhang Wenhong pointed out that the second wave of the epidemic of COVID-19 is imminent in the world, and many countries do not know when the peak will come, such as Brazil, India and Russia. As for the US, the worst-hit country, many states are showing signs of a rebound after returning to work. Faced with imported risks and pressures, China aims to be immune to the second wave of the global epidemic. After the outbreak, China's public health system is stronger than before and can cope with imported risks. (kepuchina.cn)
Novel Coronavirus can cause a blood clot and death
An editorial in The Lancet Haematology recently noted that patients with severe COVID-19 can develop disseminated intravascular coagulation as the disease progresses. Early prevention of thrombus may be the key to control clotting. Since antiviral therapy is often effective in the early stages of the disease, treatment strategies targeting inflammation and clotting may be more meaningful for patients with severe COVID-19.
British scientists have suggested using copper to fight Novel Coronavirus
According to the Daily Mail, British scientists have proposed using copper to combat the spread of novel Coronavirus. According to William Kivell, senior microbiologist at the University of Southampton, copper should be covered on doorknobs, handrails on public transport and supermarket trolleys: this will stop the novel Coronavirus from spreading. Previous studies have shown that the virus can stay on steel and plastic for up to three days and can be dangerous. But the novel Coronavirus will die within a few hours on the copper shell, because the copper ions will attack the protective shell of the virus, then enter the viral cell and destroy its DNA, ultimately killing it.
Cell: Long-term late nights were linked to premature death because of the build-up of oxides in the gut
Writing in the journal Cell, the researchers, led by Professor Dragana Rogulja of Harvard Medical, found that long-term late nights were linked to premature death because of the build-up of oxides in the gut, which destroy DNA and other components of the cells. And the researchers further confirmed that by actively removing the oxides from the animals' guts, even those that stayed up late had the same lifespan as those that stayed up late. (acheadline.com)

JD Digits independently developed wearable Al bionic hands that can quickly identify and respond to myoelectric signals within 0.5 seconds, with an accuracy rate of nearly 100%. The bionic hand can realize multi-joint cooperative control and fine operation, as well as automatic operation through built-in intelligent perception module and Al algorithm. Based on this, the labor effciency of special groups was greatly increased by 50%. (eastmoney.com)
Princeton University finds a super antibiotic that won't resist drugs
Recently, a team of researchers at Princeton University reported in the journal Cell that they have found a dual-mechanism antibiotic, SCH-79797, such as a "poisonous arrow" piercing through the cell wall of bacteria, targeting the destruction of folic acid in cells with little resistance.
Scientists: Hair graying caused by anxiety can go away on its own
Researchers at Columbia University have found that hair going gray may be directly linked to anxiety and that it can regain its colour on its own, the Daily Mail reported. It turns out that lightening your anxiety in life not only interrupts the greying process, but also reverses it and returns hair to its original colour, yet this only happenes when graying was not too long ago.
