Members' Group & Vice Chairman of Beijing Association for Science and Technology (BAST) and her colleagues visited China Research Institute for Science Popularization (CRISP) to research and communicate.

During the meeting, after welcoming the visit of BAST, Wang Kangyou the General Director of China Research Institute for Science Popularization (CRISP) introduced the basic situation, research fields and research directions of (CRISP), pointed out that current development and change towards the work style and research requirements of science popularization, and introduced the two academic publications of (CRISP) –“Studies on Science Popularization” and “Science Writing”, emphasizing the importance of academic publications for the exchange platform and resources of researching science popularization. When it comes to the future work, Wang Kangyou hopes to continuously strengthen the exchange and study between CRISP and BAST, further establish close cooperative relationship and promote the mutual development.

Sun Xiaofeng introduced the aim of research & communication this time and the current situation of BAST’s science popularization work as well; she expressed appreciation to CRISP for its continuous instructions and support in the field of science popularization theory research. She points out that as the unique national level institute disseminating science & technology and researching science popularization theory, CRISP has built up abundant experience in the past years, which inspires BAST in the aspect of researching science popularization theory and is worthy of learning and reference. She said that the resources of researching science popularization theory in Beijing area should be further integrated, so as to, from the angle of science popularization theory study, promote the “Dual Upgrading of Concepts and Practice on Science Communication” of BAST. She hopes that CRISP will continue to give instructions and help in the future.
