Si Mahong surveys Beijing Future Science Park

Develop popular science activities, build popular science platform and improve the level of construction.

On July 2, Executive Vice President of Beijing Association for Science and Technology Si Mahong and her colleagues visited Beijing Future Science Park for a field survey, in company of BAST’s deputy inspector and head of science popularization department Chen Weicheng, Executive Deputy Director of Beijing Future Science Park Management Committee Wu Xiaoli and Chairman of Changping District Association for Science and Technology Li Xuehong.

First of all, the surveying officers visited the exhibition hall of Beijing Future Science Park, National Institute of Clean and Low-carbon Energy of CHN Energy and Beijing New Building Material (Group) Co., Ltd.

At the subsequent discussion meeting, Deputy General Manager of BNBM and Executive Vice President of BAST Wu Defa and deputy director of science and technology department of CHN Energy Liu Dongyuan presented the details about the academician expert workstation, professor Niu Yuguang from North China Electric Power University, Vice President of School of Materials of Beijing University of Science and Technology Cao Wenbin talked about their personal feelings as expert representatives at the workstation, and President Li Xuehong and Executive Vice President Wu Xiaoli provided suggestions about the academician expert workstation and how to better serve sci-tech workers.

Si Mahong spoke highly of the efforts and achievements made by the academician expert workstations of CHN Energy and BNBM, adding that BAST will take a detailed stock of the current situation and improve its management practices to allow the academician expert workstations to improve in quality across the board while playing their roles sufficiently. Meanwhile, she raised suggestions about how sci-tech associations better serve the construction of Beijing Future Science Park: first, conduct science popularization activities and build platforms for science popularization using the abundant resources of Future Science Park in order to help improve the scientific accomplishments of Beijing residents and deepen the public understanding of the development of sophisticated industries; second, conduct academic exchanges between the municipally affiliated societies and the resident entities in the future science park to create an academic atmosphere and promote the high-priority industries;  Third, actively participate in the talent recommendation and selection for recognition conducted by BAST in order to help the young scientists and technologies in the regional key industries grow both personally and professionally; fourth, build up the sci-tech associations in the Future Science Park and unite and lead sci-tech workers in the park to make it home to sci-tech workers.
