OnTech holds roadshow of digital innovative technologies
It is hoped that the roadshow will help to better match the supply and demand of international technology trade.
The China Center for International Science and Technology Exchange (CISTE) of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) held an online roadshow of digital innovative technologies on April 22, 2020 under OnTech, an international technology trade promotion network initiated by CISTE together with the International Technology Transfer Network (ITTN) to support the integration of science and technology with the economy.

Projects from Israel, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands and Russia were introduced at the roadshow, focusing primarily on innovations in cybersecurity, wearable device, AI, modern agricultural trade system, AR, and VR. Part of the projects competed in the Israel stop of the 2019 Chengdu International Innovation and Entrepreneurship Contest and the China-Israel Innovation and Entrepreneurship Contest and achieved good results.
In his speech at the event, Li Xiangbin, second secretary, Science and Technology Section, Chinese Embassy in Israel, called for enhanced international cooperation on technology transfer to develop the new economy and new industries.
Liu Jianzhou, second secretary, Scientific Office, Chinese Embassy in Italy, gave an introduction about the cooperation on scientific and technological innovation between China and Italy.
The roadshow was co-hosted by the heads of CISTE and OnTech. Its partners were the German Startups Association, the Alliance of China-Italy Innovation and Entrepreneurship Partners, the Association of Brokers of Innovations and Technologies (Russia), the Innonation (Israel) and the Shanghai Digital Silk Road Industrial Innovation Cooperation Center. It also got strong support from nineteen provincial-level science and technology associations as well as the Secretariat of the World Young Scientist Summit, who organized over 200 representatives of enterprises, industrial parks, investment and financing institutes, and research institutes to take part in online matchmaking during the roadshow.
After the roadshow, relevant local science and technology associations expressed that the event was informative and targeted and that they would keep communication with participants to gather their feedbacks and demand.
CISTE also opened a group chat on WeChat to make it easier to communicate with the industrial parks, institutions and enterprises interested in the projects introduced at the roadshow.
The roadshow was broadcast on Guangming Daily Online and attracted 41,389 views. In addition, 8,886 people watched the event on ZOOM, a video communication service.
CISTE plans to continue to organize roadshows under OnTech until September to showcase advanced technologies from around the world and invite innovation experts, enterprises, innovation and entrepreneurship platforms and investment firms to take part. It hopes that the roadshows will help better match supply and demand in international technology trade and bring about various forms of industry innovation cooperation with ensured protection of intellectual property rights.
