One belt, one road, the most valuable and valuable experience, has been achieved in China's epidemic prevention work.

Facing the rapid spread of COVID-19 globally, the Children and Youth Science Center (CYSC) of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) quickly offered help to its international partners and provided them with China's COVID-19 science popularization resources that are available both in English and Chinese. So far the resources have reached science education institutions in 69 countries and regions, among which 40 are along the Belt and Road, to help popularize knowledge on epidemic prevention and control and raise the awareness and ability of children and youth to protect themselves against the virus.

The first batch of the resources provided mainly included the English-language videos on personal protection, workplace protection and going-out protection against the coronavirus, collected from the Knowledge Center for China’s Experiences in Response to COVID-19 (https://covid19.21wecan.com/), the Cloud Platform for Primary and Secondary Students (http://ykt.eduyun.cn/), and the COVID-19 special coverage of China Science Communication official wechat account (https://www.kepuchina.cn/).

International partners in countries like Pakistan, Singapore, Romania and Thailand have warmly responded to CYSC. Manzoor Hussain Soomro, president of the Economic Cooperation Organization Science Foundation, expressed appreciation for CYSC’s sharing of resources and looked forward to further cooperation. The Czech Association of Scientific and Technical Societies highly praised the resources provided by CYSC and planned to provide the video resources to Czech government emergency response agency.

Lee Yee Cheong, vice chair of the Belt and Road International Science Education Coordinating Committee (B&R ISECO), and former chair of the IAP Science Education Programme Global Council, also wrote a letter to CYSC to express thanks for its sharing of resources. He said that China has achieved remarkable results in epidemic prevention and control and its experiences are very precious and valuable to Belt and Road countries.

Next, the Secretariat of B&R ISECO, which is hosted by CYSC, will adjust its focuses in accordance with the suggestions and needs of its members and carry out cooperation on COVID-19 prevention.

CYSC is also planning to work with universities to develop COVID-19-themed science education cases and share them with its international counterparts. The cases will be available in both Chinese and English. In addition, the center will push forward the construction of the Belt and Road Virtual Science Center.
