China is willing to share its development experience with the world.
Wan Gang, vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and president of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), met with Nishibayashi Takashi, general manager of Nissan (China) Investment Co., Ltd., in Beijing on December 18, 2019.

The two sides discussed the future of the auto industry and China's development plan for the new energy vehicle (NEV) industry.
Wan extended warm welcome to the guests, and introduced China's 2021-2035 NEV industry development plan (draft) that has recently been released. He hoped Mr. Takashi and other Japanese guests would give their opinions and suggestions on it.
Wan remarked that amid the severe challenges now facing the auto industry, innovation and transformation in vehicle’s new energy power, intelligent running and sale services are expected to push the industry's innovative development to a higher level. He hoped that Nissan will contribute more to the growth of the NEV industry.
Wan stressed that China's NEV industry development plan is also a response to the COP25 of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and shows China's willingness to share its development experience with the world.
Takashi thanked Wan for his recognition of Nissan and his expectation and encouragement for Nissan to play a bigger role.
He introduced the state of NEV production and R&D in Nissan and the company's future plan for NEV.
He also made a review of the exchanges Nissan has held with relevant Chinese departments and organizations, and thanked the China Society of Automotive Engineers (CSAE) for the support it has given to Nissan.
Takashi said that Nissan attaches great importance to the China market, and will further strengthen cooperation and exchanges with China to develop the NEV industry by adjusting its business direction and deepening technological R&D.
Wan agreed with Takashi that cooperation should be further strengthened, and said that China-foreign joint ventures and foreign-funded companies are welcome to give their opinions and suggestions on how to improve China's NEV industry development plan.
Wan also invited Nissan (China) Investment Co., Ltd. to attend the 2020 World New Energy Vehicle Congress to share insights, explore NEV R&D, and contribute ideas and suggestions in support of the NEV industry.
Also joining the meeting were Sasaki Hiroki, vice general manager of Nissan (China) Investment Co., Ltd., Wang Qinlin, deputy director general of the CAST Department of International Affairs, and Zhang Jinhua, vice president and secretary general of CSAE.
